tired of shelling out a wad of cash for computer virus protection? go here- there is a free version available, and just as a note- when i installed it on my win 98 machine, it caught 2 virus that norton 2003 MISSED.
this is a personal firewall. even if you are using windows xp, i still recommend using this one- let's you know everytime a resident program on your machine wishes to access the internet, and also let's you know what is trying to get in from the other end! all settings are well, settable, and with the pro option, you can in fact track down exactly where something trying to access your machine is coming from!

this program shows you what stars are visible in the sky at the present moment for your exact location (you can enter location down to the seconds)- if you change the system clock or date you can see what stars are visible then as well. i did Australia once in winter at midnight. that was cool. i really love this program.
